  1. What are the benefits of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)?

There are a number of reasons to use a web-based solution instead of traditional software. For starters, there is no special software to install and maintain. Web services such as the Allbase Suite give you full access to your data and tools without having to worry about DLL conflicts, hard drive space, network permissions, and other everyday headaches. The Allbase Suite is a completely hassle-free solution.

Secondly, running web-based software gives you and your staff full access to the system from anywhere at anytime. No longer will you need to run to the office to get things done. Need to make a quote from home in the morning hours? No problem. Need to double-check or update your schedule late at night? It's easy. With software-as-a-service, your employees can get things done at anytime from anywhere.

  2. What do I need to run the Allbase Suite?
    Which browsers are supported?

With the Allbase Suite, all you need is a computer with an internet connection and a modern web browser. There is no special hardware required and no required software to maintain.

The Allbase Suite should run in any recent browser, such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Konqueror, Opera, or Safari. All modern operating systems are supported, including Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

  3. What kinds of companies can benefit from the Allbase Suite?

Nearly any business can benefit from the Allbase Suite. Originally designed for service-based SMBs, the system has evolved to support everything from individual contractors to global corporations.

The Allbase Suite is ideal for any business that handles accounting, CRM, inventory, scheduling, or ticketing. The fact that it's web-based means that the Allbase Suite is easy to implement, low cost, and user-friendly. The system supports multiple locations and timezones, making it ideal for bridging offices anywhere in the world.

Whether you're a service-based start-up or a multinational manufacturer, the Allbase Suite can help streamline your business.

  4. How is the Allbase Suite classified? An ERP system? CRM? BI?

The Allbase Suite is most commonly classified as an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. This means that it facilitates management of most aspects of a business: financials, human resources, workflow, customer relations, and data warehousing.

In addition to being labeled ERP, the Allbase Suite is also a fully-featured CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. Being a CRM system means that it tracks customer contact history, scheduling, marketing, and other sales processes.

Other labels have been applied to the Allbase Suite, including BI (Business Intelligence), BPM (Business Process Management), SCM (Supply Chain Management), and SEM (Strategic Enterprise Management).

  5. How can the system be customized?
What if I don't need certain features?

Like every Allbase product, the Allbase Suite is designed with power and flexibility in mind. The system features a number of built-in tools to customize both appearance and functionality.

Each installation of the Allbase Suite is skinned to match its company's colors, graphics, and forms. If your company doesn't need a certain module or feature, it can be turned off. Verbiage throughout the system can also be changed to match your operations.

Custom reports can be created within the system. Custom fields can track extra data in each module. Other programs can even integrate with the Allbase Suite through its SOAP data interface.

For more information on customizing the Allbase Suite, please see the API - Advanced Programming Interface.

  6. What other software can the Allbase Suite interact with?

The Allbase Suite can synchronize data with a number of popular accounting and scheduling packages. Using the Synchronizer software, data can automatically be transferred to and from other programs on a regular basis.

The Synchronizer currently supports Exchange®, Outlook®, Peachtree®, and QuickBooks®. More applications are regularly being added to this list.

The Allbase Suite can also share data with custom in-house applications. Its powerful SOAP data interface allows for customizable data import and export from any application.

  7. What kind of hardware set-up does Allbase provide?

With the Allbase Suite, we use only the most powerful and reliable hardware available.
